Figma Automations for monday.com

Figma comments, straight into monday.

Link a Figma file to a monday.com item. New comments arrive automatically as updates on that item, so design feedback stops getting lost between the file and the board.

Works on every Figma plan, including free

The problem it fixes

Designers leave feedback in Figma. Delivery is tracked in monday.com. Nothing connects the two, so somebody re-types comments by hand or they are simply missed.

Comments become updates

A new comment on a linked Figma file is posted as an update on the monday item, with the author and a link straight back to the comment thread.

Reply without leaving monday

An action block posts a comment back to the Figma file, so a status change or an approval can answer the designer in place.

No paid Figma plan needed

Most integrations rely on Figma webhooks, which require a paid Figma team. This one does not, so it works on the free plan too.

Getting started

Roughly two minutes, and no configuration files.

  1. Install the app on your monday.com account Add Figma Automations from the monday.com marketplace.
  2. Connect Figma Add the Figma comment trigger to a board and click Connect. You will be asked to authorize four permissions, listed below. Any Figma account works.
  3. Paste the Figma file link Open the file in Figma, copy the URL from the address bar, and paste it into the trigger. A file link is expected here, not a team or project link.
  4. Pick what happens Pair the trigger with any monday.com action: post an update, create an item, change a status, notify someone.
  5. Comment on the file New comments appear on the board within five minutes. Comments that already existed when you set the trigger up are deliberately ignored, so your board is not flooded with a file's entire history.

What it can access, and what it cannot

Four permissions, one per thing the app actually does. Nothing spare.

PermissionWhy it is needed
current_user:readShows which Figma account has been connected, so an admin can confirm the link. Read once at connection time.
file_metadata:readReads only the name of a file you have linked, so it can be shown next to the comment on your board.
file_comments:readReads comments on files you have explicitly linked, in order to detect new ones.
file_comments:writePosts a comment back to a linked file when you configure the reply action.
It never reads the contents of your designs. The app does not request access to file contents, variables, dev resources, library assets, or your project list, and it creates no webhooks. It only ever touches files that somebody has explicitly linked to a monday.com item by pasting that file's URL.

Good to know

Checked every five minutes

Comments are polled rather than pushed, which is what makes the free Figma plan work. Expect a comment to land within five minutes, not instantly.

Resolved threads stay quiet

Resolving a comment in Figma does not fire the trigger, so tidying up a file will not post duplicates to your board.

Nothing is lost on failure

If monday.com cannot be reached, the comment is retried on the next check rather than skipped.

Pricing

Billed through monday.com. Per account, not per seat, so the whole team is included on every plan.

Free$0One linked Figma file. Comments arrive on your board automatically.
Standard$19/monthUp to ten linked Figma files.
Pro$39/monthUnlimited linked files, plus the action that posts comments back to Figma.
